Baris Kaplan emigrated from Russia in 1908 and, in 1915, started working in the construction industry on his own account as B. Kaplan Carpenter and Builder.
After over a decade of improving his skills and developing his reputation, Baris Kaplan incorporated the business in 1927. B. Kaplan Construction Inc. continued to grow steadily over the years, and in 1935, was re-located to a new building on City Hall Avenue, Montreal, Quebec which is the current location of the company’s head office.
In the late 1930s and early 1940s, the founder’s sons, Saul, Edward, and Max, joined B. Kaplan Construction Inc. After Saul’s departure from the company in the mid 1940s, Edward and Max took over the helm of B. Kaplan Construction Inc. and expanded the business to include industrial and commercial clients. These clients have served as repeat customers who appreciate the company’s consistent dedication to quality and professionalism at competitive prices.
During the 1950s and 1960s, the company expanded upon its expertise and began to build commercial and residential buildings on its own account.
